Covid-19 has a hobby?

Covid1-19 has already been a big issue for over the world. At first most of people think that this virus was not kind of big issue. Some thought that the virus will remain stay in China and will not able to spread.

January is actually the first stage of the existing of Coronavirus a.k.a Covid-19, on that time mainland areas of China got affected. Wuhan was the very first place where this virus is coming from. Nobody was really care on that time. Since then, all medias literally giving each update of this virus. How many was infected, how many death and get cured were always reported. Still, many people didn’t think this covid-19 is terribely serious.

Until, in the middle of January death ratio was rapidly high, people start questioning what the coronavirus is. Media continued to giving some awareness about how dangerous this virus is as the spread is really fast, and no cure of vaccine found yet. Massive advice was saying “self-quarantine” and doing less contact with people which means stay home is a must to avoid get infected. Also, everyone get warned to wash their hands with soap or hand sanitizer frequently. People start freaking out, yet they obey to be stay home. However some crazy things again come up as the result of how people think self-quarantine is. Logistic in market was become so precious, people doing their best to buy logistic in bulk shopping. Foods, snacks, hand sanitizer and even toilet paper become as rare as dinosaurs was. See? How fears even cause more chaos than the virus does.

Do you think this virus will stay? No. This virus is quite though, it refuse to stay in Wuhan and China. Seem that it wants and intended to see how the world get prepared to welcome them. Seem that Coronavirus has a new hobby like most people do “Travelling”.

And yes Although China has made various efforts to prevent the spread of the corona virus from Wuhan, case after case has been found in other countries and now become a global pandemic.

Is it coming to Bali too?

Unfortunately Corona virus has already been landed in Indonesia and Bali since since March 2020 and still we struggle to convince that there is no any space for them here.

The number of people whom get infected is getting higher what worst is the death ratio is also high which made Indonesia is one of red zone of this pandemic.

Since this virus is not only about health issue but also affecting social-economic life, our government do every best to survive on this though situation.  Some strategic solution are taken wrapped on 1 propose to stop this dangerous pandemic. Social distancing and self-quarantine is now being implemented. Almost all public places, temples, school, government office, malls, restaurants, bars and club are closed but some still doing a very-short time operation. Commercial domestic and international flights are also banned, for the first time there will be a very few logistic flights flying in and out (do not count Balinese Nyepi day). No Flights? means Bali with zero tourist.

So what happen to Balinese and those expatriate who stay in Bali?

Zero tourist means many things. Tourism sector loss their costumer, hotel and restaurants loss their revenue, lot of hoteliers and drivers loss their job. Most of them sent back to home with no income, with another word is most people in Bali has an empty pocket.

Working from home is now highly recommended, students are also required to do online classes. The road has become so empty. Bali that is before always hustle bustle day and night is now come to a Zen. I said to myself “Bali has never been this quite”

But again, government never let us alone, they support us in every bit. Many discount and flexibility are provided supported by local community as well. For example giving basic groceries to every family, make charity “free foods” stand are also common nowadays. During this pandemic, we are finally able to see that humanity is not die yet. It still alive and never fails to be there to giving us hope or simply put back smile on our face.

Bali will soon recover from this situation.

For sure, for real soon with term. With term that we all already know, we’ve been warned so many times to do those term. But can we promise that we will keep doing so?

How commit we are to do these below simple term?

  • Wash your hands regularly with an alcohol-based cleansing gel or soap and rinse with water
  • Cover the nose and mouth with a tissue or cough and sneeze on the inside of the elbow
  • Avoid physical interactions (1 meter or 3 feet) with anyone who has symptoms of a cold or flu
  • Using mask if you going outside (cotton mask is ok)
  • Clean your house or disinfectant your house regularly,
  • Maintain your health by exercise regularly,
  • Drink hot water to boost your digestion,
  • Less stress by keeping away every single news about Covid 19

Together we can swipe this coronavirus away, let us together whisper to them “Don’t you dare to come back, don’t you dare to travel the world, don’t you dare to touch any people’s skin. Because what? because you’re not worth it to be exist ever again”

Don’t worrying too much, try to give a little more, share a little more, and live a little better.

Bali will soon be open again with its beautiful beaches and sunsets. Until then, please #staysafe and #stayhome..

Cheers,

From your home, Villa Sally-Bali
